Leah Guelfi Mezzo-soprano |
Leah began her music training at an early age with the piano, and in 2002 won a music scholarship to attend Perth College.
In 2010, she graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Classical Performance), and in 2011, with a Graduate Diploma of Music (Classical) from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).
Whilst at WAAPA, Leah performed as a soloist in numerous productions, including three lead roles in Williamson's opera English Eccentrics (as Mrs Worrall, Miss Fitzhenry and Countess Desmond), as Cherubino in Susanna's Wedding, a modern adaptation of The Marriage of Figaro, and more recently Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus.
In 2012, she was honoured to be invited to perform again in Perth Variety Cavalcade: A Radio Show, presented DownStairs at the Maj by WAAPA's postgraduate classical vocal students.
Leah is a diverse performer, and her love of jazz saw her sing recently in Justice for WA, a fundraiser at the Ellington Jazz Club.
Leah currently teaches voice at Perth College.
